With ViewTrade's attendance amongst hundreds of other companies, we wanted a design that represented their goals and brand aesthetics, while still being informational. In order to achieve this, I designed an informational brochure, backdrop and stand for the ViewTrade booth, and a small advertisement to publicize the company in the official In|Vest flyers.
The brochure was the most important piece of media, as several hundred copies needed to be made to hand out to other attendees. The first challenge was to fit as much text as possible, without it being too overbearing on the eyes. Some text even had to be cut out or simplified to work well as a design. Another challenge was to maintain the company's current aesthetics. I referenced the ViewTrade website and past media, but still added a modern touch with the diagonal lines to create something new and would still represent the company.
From there, I created the rest of the media needed, including a 6 ft tall banner in front of the ViewTrade Institutional stand. Wanting to keep the theme from the brochure, I preserved the diagonals and color palette, and added the same shapes from the title page of the brochure.
I also created a small, 3.5 x 4.75 in advertisement that went on the flyers promoting the different companies during the event, styled very similarly to the banner.
And finally, I designed two 106 x 96 in patterned backdrops for the ViewTrade Institutional stand, in two alternating colors.
This was an exciting project for me, not only because it was one of my first professional works, but also because I was allowed a lot of creative freedom when it came to the branding and design. The most thrilling part of this project was seeing my designs come to life on print, especially the brochure and the enormous banner. With an extremely tight deadline (the turnaround time was only a few weeks!), I was able to learn even more about the full ideating process when it comes to graphic design.
